As with most acts of kindness or charity, it'd be best to do it anonymously, but that can be difficult with this much money. Alternatively, Jay could just buy the mansion (as an investment), since Ed has been trying to sell it for a while, and then allow Ed to live there for the remainder of his years, which aren't many.
